In 1961, Marvin Keyser, along with childhood friends Lou and Harry Deitsch, decided to turn his favorite hobby into a lifelong career. With only a handful of technicians and a small garage, they set out to build a transmission business based on honest pricing and guaranteed service. Today, Glen Burnie Transmissions is the nation's largest independent transmission center. By 1988 GBT had grown to incorporate nearly 50 technicians and 24 service bays. 	Current Management:
	Marvin Keyser - Marvin began working on cars after school by the age of 14. He became interested in transmissions when Chrysler, in 1941, built a New Yorker with a fluid coupling transmission. In 1943 he attended the Motor Sales Co. training course on how to repair automatic transmissions. After having worked for several dealerships he opened Glen Burnie Transmissions in 1961 with Lou and Harry Deitsch. Both Lou and Harry retired in 1992.
	Karen Keyser Schwartzman - Karen learned about transmissions at the family dinner table. She is extremely knowledgeable about transmissions and it is her voice that you hear on the Glen Burnie Transmissions commercials. Karen has a masters degree from Florida State University in Special Education and teaches part time at a private girls high school in Baltimore.
	Mark Schwartzman - Mark began working at Glen Burnie Transmissions in 1997. Mark was hired after a long-time manager, Bob Lynch, retired after 30 years with the company. Mark was a stockbroker with several Baltimore firms. He is responsible for the day to day operations of the company and understands the importance of excellent customer service.
